1. NIZORALDEN and what is it used for?
• NIZORAL Cream is a cream applied locally on the skin.
NIZORAL Cream is presented to the market in aluminum tubes containing 30 grams of cream.
• Ketoconazole, the active ingredient of NIZORAL Cream, belongs to a group of drugs called imidazole derivative systemic antimycotics.
Ketoconazole disrupts the structure of the fungal cell wall, leading to the death of the fungal cell.
Fungi are microorganisms commonly found in the environment we live in. They are located on the body surface or in internal organs and cause fungal infections in many different species. The indication of the resulting infectious disease may vary according to the region or organ to which it is exposed.

• NIZORAL Cream is used for the treatment of the following fungal diseases:
- Infection due to fungi called deep dermatophyte:
- Tinea corporis (body mushroom)
- Tinea cruris (crotch mushroom)
- Tinea manus (hand mushroom)
- Tinea pedis (foot mushroom / athlete foot)
- Infection due to fungi deeply called candida (skin candidiasis)
- Tinea (pityriyasis) versicolor
- Seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff)

2. Things to watch out for before using NIZORAL
YOU DO NOT USE NIZORAL in the following situations:
If;
- You are allergic (hypersensitive) to any of the adjunct ingredients in Ketokonazole or NIZORAL Cream.
USE NIZORAL ATTENTION:
If;
- If you are seeing long-term external steroid treatment, continue your mild effective steroid application in the morning and apply NIZORAL Cream in the evening; steroid treatment is recommended to be gradually cut in a period of 2-3 weeks.
After applying the cream, wash your hands very well.
Please consult your doctor if these warnings are valid for you, even at any time in the past.
Pregnancy
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medication.
NIZORAL Cream has not been used in pregnancy. There is no known risk associated with the use of NIZORAL Cream in pregnancy. However, it should not be used unless it is required by the doctor in pregnancy.
If you notice that you are pregnant during your treatment, consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
Breast-feeding
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medication.
NIZORAL Cream was not used during breastfeeding. There is no known risk associated with the use of NIZORAL Cream during breastfeeding

Vehicle and machine use
The effects on vehicle and machine use are unknown.
Important information about some of the ancillary substances contained in NIZORAL
NIZORAL The presence of propylene glycol in the contents of the cream can cause skin irritation. Cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol can cause local skin reactions (eg, contact dermatitis (eczema)).
Use with other medicines
Corticosteroids (cortisone type drugs) found in creams, ointments or lotions.
If you are using this type of medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting treatment with NIZORAL Cream. If you started using NIZORAL Cream immediately, do not stop using corticosteroid until the next day. Your skin may react with itching and scratching.
Proceed as follows:

• Use corticosteroids for 1 week in the morning, NIZORAL in the evening
• Then apply corticosteroids every morning for 2 or 3 days, followed by NIZORAL for 1 to 2 weeks
• After that, stop using corticosteroids and continue using NIZORAL if necessary.
If you are currently using or have used a prescription or over-the-counter medication, please tell your doctor or pharmacist about them.

3. How to use NIZORAL?
Instructions for proper use and dose / application frequency:
Always use NIZORAL Cream exactly as your doctor tells you. If you are unsure, you should ask your doctor or pharmacist.
NIZORAL Cream is prepared for application to the skin, not suitable for eye use.
If your doctor does not suggest otherwise:
It is advisable to apply NIZORAL Cream once daily on top of the diseased area and close to the affected area.
Seborrheic dermatitis: NIZORAL Cream is applied once or twice a day on the diseased (infected) area depending on the weight of the infection.
Application path and method:
NIZORAL Cream is applied on the diseased area and its immediate surroundings. The diseased area is washed and dried thoroughly. Nizoral Cream is applied gently to the area and around with the fingertips. After application, wash the hands thoroughly. This point is crucial to prevent the spread of microbes to other parts of the body and to other people.

Separate towels and similar materials that you use. In this way you can prevent others from infecting you. Frequently changing your clothes in contact with the infected area will prevent you from re-infecting yourself.

Application time:
If your doctor suggests otherwise, you should use your medicine for the following periods according to the diseases:
The treatment should be continued for a sufficient period of time, at least until a few days after all symptoms have completely disappeared. If there is no improvement after 4 weeks of treatment, contact your doctor. In this case, your doctor will re-evaluate the disease. General hygiene rules must be followed to remove infection sources from the ground and prevent infection again.
Mean duration of treatment is 2-3 weeks in tinea versicolor, 2-3 weeks in deep candida infections, 2-4 weeks in tinea cruris, 3-4 weeks in tinea corporis and 4-6 weeks in tinea pedis.
The mean duration of seborrheic dermatitis treatment is 2-4 weeks. Seborrheic dermatitis is administered once or twice a week in the treatment of idemia.

Special use cases:
NIZORAL Cream has no special use.
If you have an impression that NIZORAL's effect is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
If you use more NIZORAL than you need
If you have applied NIZORAL Cream more frequently than you have prescribed, it may cause burning sensation, redness or swelling. In this case, stop using Nizoral to remove the problem altogether. Do not swallow NIZORAL Cream. If you accidentally swallow NIZORAL Cream, tell your doctor.
NIZORAL 'If you have used too much, talk to a doctor or pharmacist.
If you forget to use NIZORAL
Do not apply double doses to compensate for forgotten doses.
If you have any other questions about the use of this medicine, consult your doctor.

4. What are the possible side effects?
Like all medicines, there may be side effects in people who are sensitive to the ingredients in the NIZORAL Cream.

If you have any of the following, stop using NIZORAL Cream and tell your IMDER doctor or contact the emergency department of your nearest hospital:

- Swelling in the face, mouth and throat, severe allergic reactions in the form of shortness of breath with rash. It is possible that with NIZORAL Cream this kind of reaction is not seen, but it can be seen as in every medicine.
These are all very serious side effects.

If you have these, you have a serious allergy to NIZORAL Cream. You may need to be admitted to an emergency medical intervention or hospital.
All of these very serious side effects are very rare.

If you notice any of the following, tell your doctor immediately or contact the emergency department of your nearest hospital:

NIZORAL Cream has not been seen as serious as it is now.
If you notice any of the following, tell your doctor:
During the NIZORAL Cream treatment, rash, itching and burning sensation were observed rarely in the application area.
Rarely, local allergic skin reactions, such as contact dermatitis (eczema), may occur, depending on the NIZORAL Cream or the sodium sulphide or propylene glycol present in its composition.

The following side effects have been reported very rarely (less than 1 in 10,000) after administration to the NIZORAL Cream market:
-Hives
These are the minor side effects of NIZORAL.
If you notice any side effects not mentioned in these instructions for use, inform your doctor or pharmacist.

5. Keeping NIZORAL
Keep the NIZORAL Cream in places where it can not be seen or can be accessed by children.
Store between 15-30 oC.
Use in accordance with expiration dates.
Do not use NIZORAL Cream after the expiry date on the packaging.
Do not use NIZORAL Cream unless you notice any defects in the product and / or packaging.
