PROPECIA 1 mg film-coated tablet

Active ingredient
Each film-coated tablet contains 1 mg of finasteride.

Excipients
Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, sodium starch glycolate, docusate sodium, magnesium stearate, methylhydroxypropyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171 colorant), yellow iron oxide (E172) and red iron oxide (E172).

2. What is PROPECIA and what is it used for?

PROPECIA is presented in blister packs containing 28 film tablets.

PROPECIA is a tan, 8-sided film-coated tablet with the "P" logo on one side and "PROPECIA" on the other side. Each film-coated tablet contains 1 mg of finasteride.

PROPECIA belongs to a group of medicines known as testosterone 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors.

PROPECIA is used only for the treatment of moderate or mild male pattern hair loss (also known as androgenic alopecia) in men. It is not effective in men or women who have completely lost hair.

PROPECIA is not indicated for use in women or children. USED ​​ONLY FOR MEN.


3. How is PROPECIA used?


Instructions for proper use and dose/frequency of administration

• The recommended dose for PROPECIA is one tablet per day. If you take more than one, it will not work better or faster.

In general, daily use for 3 months or more is required to observe an increase in hair growth and/or prevention of further hair loss. Continuous use is recommended for maximum benefit. Discontinuation of treatment leads to reversal of the effect within 12 months. It is important to use your medicine as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you.

• PROPECIA is for oral use only.

• It can be taken on an empty stomach or with food.

• Take the tablets with a sufficient amount of liquid (eg with a glass of water) without chewing.

Effects that may occur when treatment with PROPECIA is terminated

If you stop using PROPECIA, your hair will start to fall out again within 9-12 months from the end of the treatment.


4. What are the possible side effects?

Like all medicines, there may be side effects in people who are sensitive to the substances contained in PROPECIA.

If any of the following occur, stop taking PROPECIA and IMMEDIATELY inform your doctor or go to the nearest hospital emergency department:

• Allergic reactions such as rash, itching, urticaria, swelling of the face and lips

These are all very serious side effects. If you have any of these, you have had a serious allergic reaction to PROPECIA. You may need emergency medical attention or hospitalization. All of these very serious side effects are very rare.

If you notice any of the following, tell your doctor immediately or go to the nearest hospital emergency department:

• Decreased sexual desire and/or difficulty in erection,

• Ejaculation problems, including decreased amount of semen released during sex

These side effects disappeared when treatment with PROPECIA was discontinued. All these are serious side effects. Emergency medical attention may be required.

Serious side effects are very rare.

Tell your doctor if you notice any of the following:

• Softening and enlargement of the breast,

• A lump in your breast, pain or nipple discharge,

• Pain in testicles

These are the mild side effects of PROPECIA.
